Weekend Outlook (30 Nov 2008)

Manchester City vs Manchester United

"...ManCity, in my opinion, is a dud. Despite having shitloads of money from the Arab overlords, they are languishing in mid-table...."

What Villarreal did really makes no sense. Shouldn't they be gunning for a win, on account of the home advantage? Instead, they went all defensive to squeeze for a boring goal-less draw.

Given that ManUtd's final game of the ECL Round 1 is at home to Aalborg i.e. unlikely for ManUtd to lose this or even draw this coming game, Villarreal, by their own stubborn insistence to eck a draw, sealed their fate to finish second in the group.

What that means is the prospect of an awful draw against the winner of the other groups which is sure to be overwhelming for Villarreal.

The way I see it, Villarreal's run ends at the next round.

Just a trivia here. Do you know that whenever ManUtd plays an ECL game in Round 1, the subsequent domestic fixture will be an away game? Don't believe? Check the fixtures! One of the chief complains by Fergie of the "fairness" of the fixtures.

JayWalk The Talk: ManCity side is relatively healthy with Robinho, Zabaleta and Fernandes all look likely to return to the starting line up.

Not so good for the ManUtd side as Scholes and Hargreaves are expected to continue to be absent. Neville with the groin injury is back in training but I doubt if Fergie will play him on Sunday. The biggest doubt remained is Berbatov who picked up a hamstring injury while representing Bulgaria a couple of weeks ago.

Although Berbatov is back in training, Fergie remained cautious however over his precious striker, as first time hamstring injuries tend to be a little more tricky.

JayWalk The Walk: City and United has been alternating wins over the years whenever they play at City's home ground. So if the trend were to persist, then we will have a ManUtd win this Sunday.

Bookies are making ManUtd give away a 0.5-ball handicap and predicts that at 1.925, ManUtd will win the game.

ManCity, in my opinion, is a dud. Despite having shitloads of money from the Arab overlords, they are languishing in mid-table. So what if they beat Chelsea to the signature of Robinho? Big whoop. One player does not make an entire team great.

And I hope they don't flatter themselves for the win over Arsenal, they were there at the right place at the right time to take advantage of a team in disarray then. Any other teams would be able to beat Arsenal then.

Go for ManUtd and give the 0.5-ball.

Disclaimer: The above views are purely my own two-cents' worth. In other words, I cannot and will not guarantee that my predictions are accurate. If you want to bet on the game, do so at your own risk. Also, please bet responsibly and within your means regardless of how "sure thing" that game may appear to be. As the old saying goes, "The Ball Is Round". Good luck.
