Results - Game 09 May 2010 EPL Prediction League 2009/2010

Congrats to ihawk98 for winning this season's Prediction League!! A bountiful season for him as he captured the Marksmen Board as well with a total of 9 correct predictions.

It was too little too late for me as I notches two correct predictions in the a row to just fall short at 8 but nevertheless, it was a great finish to the season for me at joint 4th with a Perfect Ten on the final day.

A word of thanks to everyone who stuck by us throughout the season and a even greater thanks to those who have been with us for the 6th year.

So anyway, we are going for a little breather and will be back first week of June as we kick off the World Cup 2010 prediction league. Like the previous summer tournaments, it will be action every day from Match #01 to Final #64.

Again, for those who need us to give you a reminder prior to the start of the tournament, drop your email in the comments and we'll add you to the wake-up call list.

See ya!

Fixture Focus - Spurs (9 May 2010)

Burnley FC vs Tottenham Hotspur

First of all, let me announce this: WE ARE GOING TO THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE!!!!!

Next, we should ask: Can we do better and go over our not-so-nice neighbours?

We end the season with a road trip up to Lancashire for the final game against relegated Burnley. With nothing but pride (and I heard 800K quid reward) to play for, the Clarets may be trying to end their short Premier League campaign with a loud bang.

Gomes, the hero of the clash at Manchester, may be ruled out due to thigh strain, and King will be rested after playing 2 games within a week. We may see some team-tinkering by Harry Redknapp in this coming fixture, and he had indicated he might go for 3rd (provided you-know-who fails to beat Fulham).

So, let us cheer our boys and we shall go marching on!

COYS!!!!!

Weekend Review - 9 May 2010

Manchester United vs Stoke City

"It is either all or nothing."
-Gary, 9 May 2010

The title is down to the wire on the final day of the season, even though we cant really see Man Utd being crown champions for the record 4 times.

Liverpool's loss still allow them to play in Europa next season, but with the club on sale, manager on the brink to sign for other clubs and players need to sell to clear the debt, Liverpool's future looks bleaker than Portsmouth.

Next season we welcome back Newcastle United, West Brom to the Premier League with another club via the Play-off Final.

And we also see Tottenham Hotspur playing in the Champions League for the first time next season since Everton's entry in 2005.

Back to the final game, all eyes will be on Wigan rather than on Chelsea, where they can draw or win the match to bring the title to Old Trafford. It is either all or nothing.

This is the last game of the season, till then see you next season. Dont forget the coming World Cup prediction where we predicting all 64 games.

Man Utd Team News: Michael Owen, Danny Welback and Anderson are out.

Stoke Team News: Thomas Sorensen and Abdoulaye Faye are out.

Odds and Analysis: Man Utd is giving 2.25 ball handicap. Take Man Utd for the win.

Fixture Focus - Spurs (5 May 2010)

Manchester City vs Tottenham Hotspur

This will be the "holy grail" match that all Spurs and Manchester City fans are looking forward to. Whoever wins this game will go to the Champions League. A win result would favour more to Spurs than the blue half of Manchester, who must at least draw the next game before declaring victory, whereas for us, if we win this, we could even afford to lose our last game.

The team that defeated Bolton on the weekend should be starting, and it seems that Harry Redknapp is adopting a 4-4-1-1 formation with Crouch up front. Lennon is still on the subs bench.

Mancini will be fielding their strongest side against us this evening, especially when he was tasked with something that Hughes may not achieve. City's emergency keeper Fulop will be helming the goalmouth, and Adebayor and Tevez will be leading the strike team.

All the best to us in this game, and COYS!!!!!

EPL Prediction League Match Weekend 8 – 9 May 2010

As the season draws to a close, we want to make sure that we pick matches for prediction that the results/outcome are not that obvious.  For example, picking the matches for Chelsea and Manchester United are meaningless as we all know they are both gunning for wins.

So the prediction matches will come out only on Thursday, after the midweek games for Fulham v Stoke, and Manchester City v Tottenham Hotspur.

Check back then!  Thanks.

Results - Games 01 - 02 May 2010 EPL Prediction League 2009/2010

The season is almost over as Chelsea is in the driving seat with just 3 more points to clinch the title. It's very much the same here for ihawk98 with a massive 9-point lead. However, it is still mathematically possible to beat ihawk98 on the final day.

ihawk98 needs only a 2-point weekend on the final day or Weimeng and/or hotdog to drop points.

Good luck.

Congrats also to redherring for his 9-point weekend. Oh and again so close to scoring that Perfect-10.

One more chance to try next week!

p.s. Don't forget the World Cup Prediction League! Please drop your email in the comments if you need us to send you a reminder when the World Cup Prediction League starts. As usual, we will predict all 64 games.

Weekend Review - 1 May 2010

Sunderland vs Manchester United

"...Liverpool have a catch-22 situation."
-Gary, 2 May 2010

I have to delay my review till now due to the permutations of the league table. Mid-table teams have nothing to gain or lose which they can take their mind off in the last 3 league games. But not for Chelsea, Man Utd and those teams that chasing for the 4th spot.

As of now, Tottenham is holding the fort well with 1 point ahead of Man City. The preultimate match between them is definitely not for the faint-hearted.

Last but not least, of all teams, Liverpool have a catch-22 situation. Win Chelsea and hand the title to Man Utd. Lose Chelsea not only deny Man Utd the title but also risk lose playing in Europa next season.

As for me, Man Utd also have to do their part by winning the last 2 games and hope that Chelsea will lose to Liverpool and wait for this, Wigan where they win Chelsea earlier in the season. So the ball is in whose court now?

Sunderland Team News: John Mensah, Lee Cattermole, Andy Reid and George McCarthney are out.

Man Utd Team News: Michael Owen, Danny Welback and Anderson are out.

Odds and Analysis: Man Utd is giving 1.5 handicap. At this time of the season, avoid Man Utd's handicap. I am predicting an odd-goal winner from Man Utd.

Disclaimer: This review is entirely on my own views and opinion. I didn’t point a gun at you to ask you to follow. If you want to bet on this game, do so at your own risk. Pls bet within limits. Good luck.

Fixture Focus - Spurs (1 May 2010)

Tottenham Hotspur vs Bolton Wanderers

The final leg of the race to 4th spot is heating up, and being a home game, we have to win this in order to move a step closer to our "holy grail" of the season.

After our loss to Manchester United and the draw between our next-door rivals and Manchester City, the difference is now down to 1 point. City will be facing another 4th-spot wannabe (albeit remote) Aston Villa. We and City will meet at next midweek, and I would say that game would be the deciding factor.

Let us come back to the game against Bolton. They would have to depend on their striker/our bogeyman Davies to bring the goals, though statistically we held the advantage when we play them at home. Lennon may be making a comeback to this game, and King could be back on the starting lineup. In other words, the regulars for the past few games are available.

As for Bolton, Gardner may have some doubts starting, and Basham and O' Brien are out due to injuries.

4th spot, here we come!

COYS!!!!!
