Fixture Focus–Spurs (EPL, 1 Sep 2013)

Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur
A North London Derby is not for the faint-hearted.

Our past 2 visits to the Emirates resulted in a 5-2 loss but with a new look team on our hands, this match will be different. New signing Erik Lamela is available and should start from the bench. The biggest question in my mind is how the team is gelling in training. I have no doubt that if this fixture was later in the season, we should get the 3 points.

Since it is just the start of September, I expect it to be a close one with either a 1-1 draw or 2-1 win for Spurs on the cards.

Weekend Review - 2 Sep 2013

Liverpool vs Manchester United

It is only 3 games old and we have to visit a resurgent Liverpool in the new campaign. Both teams are unbeaten and Liverpool have a perfect start. Somehow with no European competition this season for Liverpool, i suspect they could do very well in all domestic competitions.

Moyes had taste derbies matches when he was in charge of Everton. Now manager of Man Utd, he will get to taste another kind when Liverpool is Man Utd greatest rivals in terms of history and championships.

Man Utd is giving a level ball. There wont be a punt for this match as im foreseeing a draw in this match.

Fixture Focus–Spurs (Europa, 30 Aug 2013)

Tottenham Hotspur vs Dinamo Tbilisi

The approach to this qualifying match is simple. We hold a 5 goal away lead. We have the North London Derby on Sunday at the Emirates. Spurs should rest our key starters tonight and I expect AVB to feel the same.

I expect the likes of Brad Friedel, Tom Carroll, Siggy and Defoe to get a start. Those who need match fitness will also see time on the field. There will be key starters on the bench just in case everything goes south and the visitors score 4 goals against us but it should be unlikely.

Qualification for the group stages should happen and Spurs will progress.

Results - EPL Prediction 24 - 25 Aug 2013

It was a shock weekend for Arsenal last fortnight and it was again a shock weekend for ManCity last night.

Liverpool, on the other hand, started the season rather well.

The league situation is somewhat similar to our current league standing as I find myself in an unfamiliar position of joint-leader with Bedokian, with defending champion below us.

Still the season is very young and you'd be sure that there will be more shuffling in days to come.

Congrats to Everton for opening account on the Marksmen Board.

Midweek Review - 27 Aug 2013

Manchester United vs Chelsea

We won the first game against Swansea with ease even when we didnt sign anyone in the transfer market. Now we have Chelsea visiting us so early in the season, and also welcome back Jose Mourinho back to the Premier League.

Chelsea is having their third game as they have European Super Cup against Bayern Munich for winning the Europa League last season. And the irony is Jose Mourinho will face up against Pep Guardiola again.

This season could be anyone's game as we have seen Arsenal got upset by Aston Villa in the first game and Liverpool have won 2 out of 2 with a perfect start.

Man Utd is having a level ball game. Again no punt as we are still unsure of David Moyes's approach.

Fixture Focus - Spurs (25 Aug 2013)

Tottenham Hotspur vs Swansea City AFC

The first home game of the season. We will be playing hosts to our fellow Europa competitor Swansea City. Both teams emerged victorious from their respective European campaign with huge scorelines.

For the Spurs lineup, basically everyone is available, with the exception of Holtby, Adebayor and of course, Bale. Vertonghen is likely to start after recovering from an injury.

Swansea's only injury would be Dyer, which means Laudrup would have plenty to choose from, including those in the 5-1 victory against the Romanian side during midweek.

Big wins during midweek. The big question now is, who will suffer from the post-Europe game blues?

Fixture Focus - Spurs (22 Aug 2013)

FC Dinamo Tbilisi vs Tottenham Hotspur
(Europa League Playoff Stage, 1st Round)

Hello all and welcome to the new season!

Our Europa campaign kicks off this evening at Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, against the Georgian champion FC Tbilisi, who were just eliminated from the Champions League qualifying round.

With the recent news that our star player Bale leaving for Real Madrid, we could confirm that he will not be in the equation for this match. All the best and thanks for the memories, Gareth Bale!

Vertonghen and Lennon will not be going for this game, but the rest of the team, including our new signings Paulinho, Soldado and Chadli, are.

FC Tbilisi would probably rely on their on-form keeper Loria to stave off our attacking side, after his good performance for the Georgian national team against Spain last year.

A new season, a new beginning, a new team.

COYS!!!!!

Fixture Focus–Spurs (EPL, 18 August 2013)

Crystal Palace vs Tottenham Hotspur

Welcome one and all to the first competitive fixture of season 2013/2014.

Spurs have had an amazing off-season with transfers coming fast and furious in recent weeks. This is shaping up to be AVB’s team and all eyes will be on the pitch this Sunday to see what they are made off. Talk has been rife that we will deploy a 4-3-3 formation with new Spanish signing Soldado spearheading the attack up front. I do expect Paulinho to start in midfield with Sandro, Dembele and Lennon.

Selhurst Park can be tough on opening day as Crystal Palace will be psyched that they are back in the Premier League. I expect former gunner Chamakh to lead from the front.

The players will be finding their feet and tactics will still be setting in so I expect a close one with Spurs edging the home team 2-1!

Weekend Review - 17 Aug 2013

Swansea City vs Manchester United

This is the first game of the season and we are heading to Swansea.

Swansea has done well last season with the surprise signing of Michu. And they are in the Europa League qualifiers before they could progress to the main draw. Good luck to them.

Man Utd won the first trophy under Moyes in the new season which is the Community Shield. Hopefully they will do well and raise our expectation as well.

Man Utd give 0.5 handicap. Man Utd are traditionally slow starter, so no punt at the moment.

Barclays Premier League 2013/2014

Manchester United vs Wigan Athletic

Welcome to the new season of Barclays Premier League. Today is the curtain raiser where the winner of Premier League against the winner of the FA Cup in the Community Shield.

Off season, we welcome David Moyes as the new Man Utd manager after Fergie has decided to call for a day. Expectations should be keep low at the moment even though the pre-season friendlies had mixed results. We also do not have a busy transfer activity as what we have expected. Hopefully we able to pace ourselves to keep ourselves at the top 4 of the table. Dont think of been champions of Premier League or Champions League at the moment.

Wigan also have a change of manager after they got relegated last season, and got Owen Coyle at the helm. They also got a winning start at the Championship and will like to make an immediate return to the Premier League at the first try.

Man Utd is give 1.5 ball handicap. Take Man Utd for the win.
