Euro 2012 Prediction League Match Days 01 & 02

This was originally slated to be published on 1st Jun but I am already getting withdrawal syndrome now that the regular season is over.

In the mean time, let's kick this baby off with Games 01 to 04 predictions. Good ruck!

p.s. I am also going to reinstate the Si Ginah Award for those who make my life difficult by overwriting other people's predictions or to submit via Anonymous User mode and didn't identify yourself. Don't say I never warn you hor.

JayWalk's EPL 2011/2012 Betting Season's Report Card

Overall, I did relatively well but my sucking position in the prediction league didn't do me much justice.

Euro 2012 - Tournament Scores & Table Excel Spreadsheet

Whenever there is a big tournament like Euro or World Cup, there would be a kind soul out there who would take the effort to do up a tournament sheet for us to fill in the results and track each team's progress.

This year is no different and it is relatively easy to obtain a copy via a simple Google Search.

Anyway, I have decided to save everyone the trouble and keep a copy here available to whoever wishes to download it.

Fixture Focus–Spurs (13 May 2012)

Tottenham Hotspur vs Fulham

We can do things the easy way, or the Spurs way. Trust us to leave it to the last match of the season where even if we win, the fate of 3rd place is out of our hands.

In the closest race for 3rd and 4th place in the league ever, 3 teams are fighting for the Champions League spots and the only important thing to know as a yiddo is that Spurs must win this home match.

And to top it all, it is the return of big Martin Jol to the Lane which would be a bitter sweet occasion for some fans and also the former gaffer. Emotions will be mixed. I hope ‘arry gets the players focused on what needs to be done. We have the quality to be ALWAYS among the elite in the Premier League. Our players say the same in every interview they give. Now is the time to stop the rhetoric, and show it on the field.

Weekend Review - 13 May 2012

Sunderland vs Manchester United

Why is there a need to rely on others like QPR to win the match against Man City when Man Utd have a more tougher opponent who is Sunderland? If Man Utd lost, Man City can still win the title without a fight even if they lost as well due to the goal difference.

Fergie, you put too much pressure on QPR and I dont think QPR can even win in Man City home ground. Somehow the mind games for this last game will backfire on Fergie.

With the last game of the season, there is last spot of relegation, 2 spot for Champions League still and the title to play for. A massive weekend.

Since this is also the last post of the season and the up-coming European Championship prediction games, pls continue to come back to this site for any news update and review.

Weekend Review - 6 May 2012

Manchester United vs Swansea City

The title is out of our hands at the moment. From 8 points lead and cut till Man City overtake us on goal difference, it takes a miracle as both Manchester teams will be looking at each other results till next week where it is the final day of the season.

This season, the current team have fail to live up to the expectations. Knocked out early in the Carling Cup, Champions League and FA Cup, and with Fergie stating that the team is in transition, he has to act fast in the off-season by going into transfer market for experienced defenders and midfielders to take the load of Rio Ferdinand, Vidic and the duo of Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes.

And with the competition increase for Champions League places for teams like Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool and Tottenham, there is no confirmation that the Big 4(Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool) will be guarantee to be at the top of the standings permanently in the coming seasons.

Next season, we get to see Reading and Southampton as the latter has been missing from the top flight since 04/05. Southampton was further relegated to the second division (or third division by the older generation) in 09/10 before gaining promotion in successive season to the promised land next season.

Fixture Focus - Spurs (6 May 2012)

Aston Villa vs Tottenham Hotspur

Another away fixture to another relegation-threatened team, and with an impressive finish at the Reebok Stadium (our first away win for this year), Spurs is set to continue the winning momentum.

The team bus to Villa Park could see the return of Parker, which means there could be some slight reshuffle in our usual lineup. Walker injured his toe in the game against Bolton, but he could be rushed back to fitness to face the Villans.

Aston Villa is having one of their worst seasons and they averaged just 1 league point per home game for 2011/2012. McLeish would not want a repeat of what happened to his previous club Birmingham last season, courtesy of Spurs. Expect them to throw everything at us with the likes of Agbonlahor and possibly rushing to deploy our ex-striker Bent.

With Newcastle seeing off Chelsea's top 4 finish this season and closing in, this is yet another must win for us.

Fixture Focus - Spurs (2 May 2012)

Bolton Wanderers vs Tottenham Hotspur

After the victorious (one-sided) game with Blackburn, we are facing yet another relegation-threatened team – Bolton Wanderers – at the Reebok Stadium. Both teams are playing their games-in-hand for different reasons – 1 for a shot back to Champions League contention and the other for getting out of the dreaded zone.

With Hodgson confirmed as the new England manager, there is no distraction on the part of Redknapp now, and the next question would be, who would he choose for the game tonight? I guess he would want to remain status quo for this game, even though he was blasted for his lack of squad rotation. Lennon, Saha and Parker are still doubtful and may require late fitness tests.

Bolton also have problems of their own with their regular midfielder Reo-Coker doubtful, and Pratley and Steinsson  out of selection. Their talisman (and our nemesis) K Davies is likely to start. Sitting at 18th place at the moment, Coyle would definitely want to make this count to bring them out of the relegation zone and survival.

The Reebok Stadium is not a happy hunting ground for us, and coupled with the fact that we had yet to win an away game this year, statistics are turning against us for this game.

Still, expect an explosive match. COYS!!!!!
