Weekend Review - 29 Jan 2016

Derby County vs Manchester United

When we win matches, LVG will mentioned we are in the title race. And now we lost to Southampton, he want to quit and not able to fulfill our expectation. All we want is entertaining football, it is that simple.

We will visit Derby County for the FA Cup 4th round. If we lost, this could be the end of LVG's tenure. But there is a catch. Ed Woodward doesnt want to change manager in a mid-season. And in a way, we could be seeing either Jose Mourinho or Pep Guardiola during the off season.

Man Utd is giving 0.5 handicap. I really wish Derby County will win this match and knock out Man Utd.

Results - EPL Prediction League Match Weekend 23 - 24 Jan 2016

This week's results took a surprising turn to blow the race open once again. With leader KingMeng getting nothing but snake eyes, coupled with 3 marksmen predictions, we now have a FIVE-horse race as we move towards the century-point milestone.

Congratulations to ihawk98 and ianrush for another notch on the marksman table, and especially redherring for his first one this season.

Weekend Review - 23 Jan 2016

Manchester United vs Southampton

A fortunate 1-0 win against Liverpool. Out of sudden we are only 7 points behind joint leaders Leicester and Arsenal, and we are back in the title race. Not really, LVG. In between we still have Manchester City and Tottenham that are fighting for the Champions League slots for next season. As long as we got a spot for Champions League next season, we should be fine. Somehow I really hope this season is your last. We really cant bear to watch the style of football you have dished out.

We will have Southampton visiting us. and Old Trafford is become a Theatre of Dreams in reality. Why is that so? Because in all our home games, about 90% of the matches we have no goals in the first half. That is a good stat for punting, lol.

Man Utd is giving 0.5 handicap. Since first half will not have any goals, expect goals in the second half. Take Man Utd for the win.

Results - EPL Prediction League Match Weekend 16 - 17 Jan 2016

As we go into the second half of the season, the pack is now a three-horse race with KingMeng maintaining a 5-point lead at the top.

Everton's consistent performance once again has moved him up to 4th place, being the only one with two correct predictions (thanks to the frustrating loss at Anfield...)

Weekend Review - 17 Jan 2016

Liverpool vs Manchester United

Our midweek game against Newcastle serve 6 goals and end in an entertaining draw. Same goes to Liverpool and Arsenal match. Will we see again in this match?

Somehow there is an imbalance in our squad. At home, we defend and cant even score a goal. Away from home, we score like nobody business yet cant defend. There is no consistency from the players.

Man Utd eat 0.25 handicap. No punt.

Fixture Focus - Spurs (16 Jan 2016)

Tottenham Hotspur vs Sunderland AFC

The top of the table clash with Leicester during the midweek did not bode well for us, and true to the EPL competitive spirit, that loss has brought us within 1 point difference against 5th placed West Ham.

Spurs will host struggling Sunderland for the Saturday early kick-off. Pochettino and our boys should cast the media headlines of "title chasers" and "potential league champions" aside and concentrate on the games at hand. Dembele is fit for today's action.

Sunderland is aiming to get some positive results from this game to lift them off the bottom three, after winning 2 league matches in a row. Ex-Spurs boy Defoe is looking to cause some damage to us, after netting 5 goals in his last 2 league games.

Something interesting to look forward to.

Midweek Review - 13 Jan 2016

Newcastle United vs Manchester United

We need an injury time penalty winner against Sheffield United to progress to the next round. Yes, an injury time penalty. The whole of 90 minute was such a bore that someone video-ed a fan sleeping during the match. And speculation that the board of directors have performed a U-turn against LVG. Just let him go and give him the retirement pension!!

We have two matches this week, against Newcastle in the midweek and Liverpool over the weekend. We need to gain points to catch Arsenal as we are 9 points behind them. However Paul Scholes mentioned that the current playing style is killing the players as well as they have no desire to attack. Low morale, low in confidence, need something to inspire them again. Which we wont see it happening any time soon.

Man Utd is giving 0.75 handicap. With the handicap adjusted, we could be seeing alot of 1-0 scoreline in the second half of the season. Take Man Utd for the win.

Weekend Review - 9 Jan 2016

Manchester United vs Sheffield United

A win against Swansea did relieved some pressure on LVG and the players. We saw the old playing style that we used to see during Fergie's time. Play through the flanks, cross and strike. Somehow along the way, LVG will go back to his old ways and defied the odds again. We shall see again.

We will have FA Cup action this weekend and we will face Sheffield United. They are currently plying their trade in League 1 (old division 2). Last time they were in the Premiership were exactly 10 years ago. We need more wins and more goals to gain back the confidence in the players.

Man Utd give 1.5 handicap. I would say Man Utd will win and progress to the next round, but goals wise, i doubt they will clear the handicap.

Results - EPL Prediction League Match Weekend 2 - 3 Jan 2016

Happy 2016 to one and all!

We kick off the brand new year with KingMeng consolidating his position at the top with two correct predictions. The pack is now shaping up to be a 4-horse race as things stand.

Well done to Everton again (!) and Mr White for also notching 6 points this week.

Fixture Focus - Spurs (3 Jan 2016)

Everton FC vs Tottenham Hotspur

Happy New Year everyone! All the best to you all for 2016!

Spurs will begin the new year with a match at Goodison Park, home of Everton.

Coming out of a (lucky) win against Watford, the winning momentum must carry on. There has been talk about Spurs being the surprise team to clinch the EPL title, but we have to dispel these "heads-in-the-clouds" thoughts and focus on the moment. For this game Dembele is out due to a strain incurred in the game against Watford, but the rest of the first-teamers are available for selection.

Everton will have their goal-scoring machine Lukaku, who netted 15 goals from his 19 league appearances this season, as their marksman against us.

Despite playing the last game of the weekend, Spurs is still assured of the 4th spot come Monday morning, but as the saying goes, we must not rest on our laurels. Though topsy turvy, this is one of the tightest seasons yet. 2 mistakes in a row will send one team tumbling down hard.

Weekend Review - 2 Jan 2016

Manchester United vs Swansea City

Somehow the players performed better against Chelsea and make LVG a U-turn on his words. And the winless record now stretch to 8 games. Not a very good omen to welcome the new year.

We will host Swansea and at the moment caretaker manager Alan Curtis have managed to steer to calmer waters. However we have not won against them since LVG took over.

Man Utd is giving 1 ball handicap. Again no punt.
