Fixture Focus - Spurs (31 Jan 2015)

West Bromwich Albion vs Tottenham Hotspur

Back to EPL action, Spurs will travel away to The Hawthorns, home ground of WBA, for this league fixture.

Pochettino would be going back to EPL business after seeing his side through to the final of the League Cup. Players are aplenty for him to select, with the exception of Bentaleb, who is away for international duty.

Pulis was recently pulled in to rejuvenate the WBA side, and based from the experiences in his previous clubs, he could really do it. Mulumbu is out of selection due to international duty, and defender Olsson, back from injury, is trying to get fit for this game.

Weekend Review - 31 Jan 2015

Manchester United v Leicester City

The FA Cup against Cambridge was a match that I have forgotten to review as it was played last Fri. But the good news is that Chelsea, Tottenham, Man city and Southampton are out of FA Cup. And our next round opponents are Preston or Sheffield if we progress to the next round.

We are back for Premier League action as we welcome Leicester City tonight. Currently mired at the bottom of the table, they will have the extra motivation to face us as they won against us in the earlier fixture.

Man Utd is giving 1.25 handicap. No punt on the handicap.

Fixture Focus – Spurs (28 Jan 2015)

Sheffield United FC vs Tottenham Hotspur
(Capital One Cup, Semi Final 2nd Leg)

We know that Chelsea is in the final of this competition. If we are through, it will be a repeat of the 2008 final, which ironically that was when we won our last silverware.

But first things first, we need to win this game. The thing that separates these two sides is just a goal that resulted from a penalty kick. Spurs are probably still in shock after the untimely exit from the FA Cup competition, which The Blades would likely to capitalise on. Underestimating the opponent would be the last thing on Pochettino’s mind now.

Sheffield United, led by a high street-cred manager Clough, is harbouring hopes of an upset, especially so after seeing what Leicester did and this match is played at their homeground, Bramall Lane.

An exciting game awaits. COYS!!!!

Fixture Focus–Spurs (FA Cup, 24 January 2015)

Tottenham Hotspur vs Leicester City

After a narrow win against Sheffield United in the Capital One cup semi-final first leg, Spurs turn their attention to another cup tie this weekend as we face the Foxes at the Lane.

Pochettino knows the importance of cup wins for Spurs and to be still competing in 3 cup competitions is testament to his football philosophy so far.

I expect a lively tie and I don’t fully understand the gaffer’s intention to feature Adebayor again. I can only assume this is part of his man management skills in motivating the best out of players.

We will only see evidence of whether it is working on the field of play.

EPL Prediction League

There wont be any prediction league this weekend due to FA Cup.

Results - EPL Prediction 17 - 18 Jan 2015

No century this week but we are definitely closer than before. Looks like our first Centurion will not come from ihawk98 as the Spurs fan stumbled over the weekend. His slack was, however, picked up by fellow Spurs fan who came within a whisker of a Perfect-10, leapfrogging over to grab pole position.

Congrats!

Weekend Review - 17 Jan 2015

Queen Park Rangers v Manchester United

We lost points and fail to cut the lead on Chelsea when we lost to Southampton last week. A horrible performance without a single shot on target. And now we are fourth in the table as Southampton leapfrogged us.

Now we will go to Queen Park Rangers and having a good record against them, hopefully Man Utd's performance will improve.

Man Utd is giving 0.75 handicap. Take Man Utd for the win.

Fixture Focus - Spurs (17 Jan 2015)

Tottenham Hotspur vs Sunderland AFC

Spurs will play host to Sunderland, currently 16th in the table. And the visitors might spring a surprise (later on I will tell you....).

Coming from behind to win the FA Cup fixture during midweek, Pochettino would want to get the winning momentum going. Lamela and Mason are still out due to injury and we might see Soldado going back to the bench, as he still can't find his scoring groove back, although he did assist in a couple of goals against Burnley.

Poyet would want the Black Cats to stay away from the dreaded relegation zone as far as possible, and he may be trying to get some league points from his old workplace. Regulars Fletcher and Cattermole would be trying to get their fitness assessed to face off against us.

And yes, what is the surprise about. The surprise package is....Defoe. "Rumour" has it that he is coming back from across the Atlantic to join Sunderland, and he might make it for this weekend fixture.

I sense a good game coming up. COYS!!!!

Fixture Focus - Spurs (14 Jan 2015)

Tottenham Hotspur vs Burnley FC
(FA Cup 3rd Round Replay)

The draw at Turf Moor brought the 3rd round FA Cup tie to the Lane. Having just lost to Crystal Palace over the weekend, we need some morale booster before another EPL game just 3 days away.

Pochettino has the whole squad at his disposal, with the exception of Mason and Lamela (injury), and Bentaleb is away for international duty in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Though Burnley has a record of playing through 7 games with an unchanged side, Dyche had hinted that he may make some long-awaited rotations when facing off against us.

Results - EPL Prediction 10 - 11 Jan 2015

It's kinda late but nevertheless a happy new year as we kick off our first prediction for the year 2015.

Congrats to Mr White for being the only 6-pointer this weekend to climb to 3rd spot.

Leader ihawk98 pull two points away from challenger KingMeng to sit atop at 91. Perhaps, we get to see our first Centurion next weekend?

On the Marksmen Board, we congratulate ihawk98, ianrush and Mr White for forming a 3-men leading pack with 5 correct predictions apiece thusfar.

Cheers.

Weekend Review - 11 Jan 2015

Manchester United v Southampton

We progressed to FA Cup 4th round with ease and will face Cambridge United, where it is the lowest league team in the competition.

We will have Southampton visit us in quick succession as they draw against us a few weeks back. And good news is that we only have Ashley Young left in the treatment room. We also sign Victor Valdes on a free transfer.

Man Utd is giving 0.5 handicap. I will take Man Utd for the win.

Fixture Focus–Spurs (EPL, 10 January 2015)

Crystal Palace vs Tottenham Hotspur

Pochettino leads a resurgent Spurs as we visit Selhurst Park this weekend.

Palace are without Yannick Bolasie and Mile Jedinak, two important players for them who are away on international duty at the African Cup of Nations and Asian Cup respectively. Yet we will face a spirited side who are buoyed by their new manager Alan Pardew.

We don’t have Lamela and Mason fit while Bentaleb is away on international duty as well. I expect some changes to the starting eleven in light of a busy fixture schedule ahead  that includes an FA Cup replay in midweek and 2 semi-final clashes for the Capital One cup.

This is a testing time of the new gaffer’s philosophy and it seems that we got our old Spurs back. Exciting times!

Fixture Focus–Spurs (FA Cup, 5 January 2014)

Burnley vs Tottenham Hotspur
The two sides met each other no more than 20 days ago at the Lane where Harry Kane and Erik Lamela got us the win in a league match against a tough, fighting Burnley.

This time round we play in the FA Cup and we play away at Turf Moor. This is by no means an easy game and we should not be overconfident.

We should be shuffling our midfield around as Benteleb has gone off to help Algeria in the African Cup of Nations, while Mason and Lamela remain iffy. I expect Stambouli and Dembele to get the nods with Pochettino definitely wanting to avoid a replay and get the job done tonight.

Confidence is high for Spurs and we just need to keep focus.

Weekend Review - 3 Jan 2015

Yeovil Town vs Manchester United

Though we have to earn the 1 point against Stoke, we gladly take it as we saw Chelsea lose to Tottenham.

And now the magic of the FA Cup where teams from the lower leagues fancy a plump tie against the giants in the Premier League to earn revenue enough for 1 whole season. Yeovil Town is one lucky team to pick us and we are heading to Huish Park to face them. They will definitely make life difficult for us.

Man Utd is giving 1.75 handicap. At this early stage of the competition, it is advisable not to take any handicap, so no punt.

Weekday Review - 1 Jan 2015

Stoke City vs Manchester United

Happy New Year!! May the new year see a better performance for the Red Devils!!

We will head to Britannia Stadium to face Stoke, currently managed by Mark Hughes. Hopefully we can clinch another 3 points and hope Tottenham will deny Chelsea 3 points to let us close the gap.

Man Utd is giving 0.5 handicap. Take Man Utd for the win and the handicap.

Fixture Focus - Spurs (1 Jan 2015)

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea FC

Happy 2015 to you! May you have a jolly good year ahead!

Being the last game of the Christmas Crunch period, today's fixture will see us pitting against our blue neighbours from the western part of London at the Lane. With Kaboul as the only doubtful player in the first squad, we will see how Pochettino makes his selection for this huge encounter.

The "One" also has a full squad at his disposal, with only Oscar down with an illness. Their last few games had been victories, only marred by a draw at Southampton.

Less than 1 month ago we were down 3-0 at Stamford Bridge, but since then we had picked ourselves up and on the way heading for the coveted top-4 region. Expect a very good matchup.
