Weekend Review - 1 May 2016

Manchester United vs Leicester City

So we got into the FA Cup final and facing Crystal Palace. And now we have 4 games left to finish this season on a high.

Leicester, Norwich, West Ham and Bournemouth, teams that we can win easily in the past. In that instance, we could have 12 points and finish higher in the league.

We will entertain waiting-to-be champions Leicester this week. Delay or not, they have earn their due this season for being an underdog and overcome all the odds to sit at the top. And next season, they will also get to play in the Champions League and face other giants.

Man Utd is giving 0.5 handicap. No punt as Leicester defence is quite strong in the second half this season. it could end in a draw.

Fixture Focus - Spurs (25 Apr 2016)

Tottenham Hotspur vs West Bromwich Albion

Monday night football sees Spurs hosting West Bromwich Albion at the Lane. Leicester had just won (big) against Swansea over the weekend, so now it is back to an eight point difference.

However, there is still a glimmer of hope for Spurs, and I think the entire Spurs team is harbouring that. The full squad is available for the home game, so no guesses as to who would be lining up.

The Baggies have had a poor form recently, having lost four of their last five matches. WBA's striker Berahino, who ironically was linked to Spurs during the transfer window, is a danger man to look out for.

All the best to the Lilywhites. COYS!

Results - EPL Prediction League Match Weekend 23 - 24 Apr 2016

This week, edwinsg further consolidates his pole position with an additional point to widen the gap over former champion KingMeng. The result at Goldsands pretty much made it a bumper weekend for most, and maintains the three-horse status quo. It is still anyone's game at this point, but time is running out with just three weekends left.

Both ianrush and myself broke century this week, with me racking up a bonus exact prediction at the Stadium of Light to climb another rung up the Marksmen Board.

Weekend Review - 23 Apr 2015

Everton vs Manchester United

So now, we are chasing the 4th spot at a time where the season is ending. And out of sudden, we can even go third if Man City and Arsenal fail to win the next game. This is how unpredictable the season is going at this rate.

We will take our eyes off this weekend for an FA Cup semi-final tie against Everton. Roberto Martinez is going downhill after a public scolding to a player that doesnt goes well in the dressing room.

Man Utd is giving 0.25 handicap. Take Man Utd for the win and progress to FA Cup Final where they will face either Crystal Palace or Watford.

Midweek Review - 20 Apr 2016

Manchester United vs Crystal Palace

A narrow win that consigned Aston Villa to Championshp next season and we are chasing for the 4th spot. I just have a feeling that we are chasing for the lost cause.

We will have Crystal Palace visiting us and they just had a draw against Arsenal that drop them to 4th (again!). Arsenal title challenge is over with 5 games remaining and 13 points gap to chase Leicester.

Man Utd is giving 1 ball handicap. Again, another narrow win for Man Utd.

Fixture Focus - Spurs (18 Apr 2016)

Stoke City vs Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs will be travelling to the Britannia Stadium for the last fixture of the weekend, against hosts Stoke City.

Leicester had drew their weekend game, and this means Spurs are just 8 points apart with 1 game in hand, which will be playing in a few hours' time. Except for the long term injuries, there is no major absentee concerns for Pochettino, who is expected to throw in the weight of the first team to grind an outcome.

Stoke still had some hopes to play for in the form of an European qualification, although they could be party spoilers for us.

According to statistics, the games played between Stoke and Spurs at the Britannia Stadium are red card magnets; 7 red cards shown in the past 6 meetings there. Hope that this one will be an exception.

And the Spurs goes marching on....

Results - EPL Prediction League Match Weekend 16 - 17 Apr 2016

We have a new leader this week! edwinsng's patience pays off with an exact prediction at Goodison Park to blaze 4 points past KingMeng. Voxeros is also coming into his final mile stride and secures third place, opening a 6-point gap between himself and joint fourth-placers Everton and ihawk98. He also continues to lead the Marksmen Board with an exact prediction for the Everton-Southampton match.

redherring manages to just hit the century milestone this weekend, while we also congratulate ihawk98 and Bedokian for progressing up the Marksmen Board.

With a few weekends left, the three-way tie continues to hold true. But with the recent change in league leader, I don't know what to expect. Stay tuned!

Weekend Review - 16 Apr 2016

Manchester United vs Aston Villa

Man Utd win in the replay and proceed to the semi-final of the FA Cup to face Everton next weekend. Somehow Man City and Liverpool win to progress to the semi-final of the European Cup and Europa League respectively, there are news that if both teams win the competition, the 4th spot in the EPL will not be given as there are only maximum of 5 teams that are allow to complete.

Majority of the comments that i have read in ESPN were positive in a sense that Man Utd dont deserve 4th spot, does not deserve next season European campaign. And I have to agree with it. They are currently 5th, trailing Man City 4 points behind, and left 5 games remaining including tonight game against Aston Villa.

As long as Man City hold on to the 4th spot and even if they dont win the European Cup, the news is as good as "for your information" purposes.

Aston Villa is 15 points from safety with 5 games remaining. Technically they are relegated, as long as they lose tonight, they can prepare for life in the Championship.

Man Utd is giving 1.75 handicap. Take Man Utd for the win.

Midweek Review - 13 April 2016

West Ham United vs Manchester United

For 70 minutes, we are heading for a draw. But for some unknown reason, we just collapsed and let in 3 goals within the next 6 minutes. 2 clueless substitution from LVG is beyond us. Ashley Young as a striker? Timothy Fosh-Mensah was a giant among all the Man Utd defenders, he did superbly against Spurs attack, making 2 goal-line clearance. Too bad, his efforts have gone to naught. And the moment he was taken off, the goals came. A rather clear indication that Timothy Fosh-Mensah and Marcus Rashford didnt listen to LVG's instructions.

We will head to Upton Park for the FA Cup replay. A wrong time to play against West Ham as Andy Carroll scored a hat-trick against Arsenal over the weekend. And they are also chasing for European spot next season, be it in the European Cup or Europa League. I am predicting one of these clubs will not have European campaign next season, West Ham, Manchester City or Manchester United. I hope the answer is obvious.

The match is a level handicap game. No punt on this. Hope West Ham can end LVG's tenure this season.

Results - EPL Prediction League Match Weekend 9 - 10 Apr 2016

While the race for the Premiership looks set to be Leicester's fairy-tale, the Prediction League is hotting up. Leader KingMeng lets one point slip to rival edwinsng, while Voxeros climbs over Everton to secure his spot in the Top 3 with two correct predictions.

Cool402 managed to break the century mark this week, leaving 4 more people on the brink. Congratulations to ihawk98 and ianrush for being among the 6-pointers this week, while yours truly is once again thrown for a loop and ends up with a big goose egg. Lucky got Everton to accompany me...

Fixture Focus - Spurs (10 Apr 2016)

Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United FC

The title race is beginning to show. As of now Leicester is 7 points clear of us and until the last game of the season, we would be playing after they had played. So, in a sense, there is an issue of Leicester's results putting some pressure on our boys. For this weekend, Spurs welcome Manchester United to White Hart Lane.

The Leicester game would be kicking off 2.5 hours earlier, but Pochettino is taking no chances for the matchup against the red half of Manchester. The team that played at Anfield is likely to show up in this one.

The Red Devils are slowly inching up the table and they could potentially grab a spot for Champions League by season's end, and a win would boost that chance. Danger men Martial and Rashford could pose a threat to us.

A good game in the making. Enjoy!

COYS!!!!!

Weekend Review - 10 Apr 2016

Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United

A vital win to catch Man City in the 4th spot and in a way, stretch the lead over West Ham. Another vital game in White Hart Lane, where one is chasing for the crown, another chasing for the 4th spot. In the past, Man Utd is chasing for the crown, but now it is the reversal.

I am assuming Leicester and Arsenal fans will be rooting for Man Utd to stop Tottenham where one can claim the crown earlier, while another is to overtake Spurs for the bragging rights.

Man Utd is eating 0.5 handicap. Im predicting this game will end in a draw as the most suitable for all parties involved in the title fight.

Results - EPL Prediction League Match Weekend 2 - 3 Apr 2016

No change to the three-way tie situation as we start to see bus-parking strategies taking place. The margin between KingMeng and edwinsng is maintained, while Everton inches closer. Voxeros now counts himself among the century-breakers for this season while cool402, redherring, ihawk98 and Mr White wait patiently in the wings.

In other news, congratulations to Bedokian for being the only one to predict both outcomes correctly this weekend, while Mr White and myself managed to progress up the Marksmen Board with an exact prediction each.

Fixture Focus - Spurs (2 Apr 2016)

Liverpool FC vs Tottenham Hotspur

The international break is over, and now we are back to league action. Spurs will be going through a series of tough games. First up, Liverpool away.

Pochettino have almost the entire first team at his disposal, with Lamela probably being the exception as he had taken up an injury during his international duty. The manager recently announced to pile the pressure on Leicester by winning this game.

Liverpool is facing a host of injuries and their top scorer Firmino is doubtful for the game. Klopp would have to decide if they wish to spoil Spurs' party or to concentrate more on the upcoming Europa League clash against our former opponents Dortmund.

Anfield is a statistical nightmare for us, with only 1 win out of 21 league games played there. But for this season, anything goes.

COYS!

Weekend Review - 3 Apr 2016

Manchester United vs Everton

International break is over and we are in the final stretch. We will be seeing a new champion at the end of the season and is either Leicester or Tottenham. However Leicester is not crumbling under pressure, and is doing well so far.

We will have Everton visiting us and we also need to do well in order to qualify for European campaign next season. 4th spot is getting hot at the moment with both Manchester clubs and West Ham vying for it.

Man Utd is giving 0.5 handicap. Take Man Utd for the win and the handicap.
