Results - EPL Prediction League Match Weekend 19 - 20 Mar 2016

KingMeng and edwinsng continue to tussle neck and neck for the top spot, but KingMeng still leads his competitor by 2 points while Everton lurks in the shadows. As we approach the last 3 or 4 weekends of our PPL season, the three-horse race seems to solidify. However, with Voxeros, cool402, redherring and ihawk98 poised to potentially break the century mark in the next two weeks, I'm not counting anyone out.

Congratulations also to Everton and yours truly for an exact prediction for the Manchester derby at Etihad stadium.

Fixture Focus - Spurs (20 March 2016)

Tottenham Hotspur vs AFC Bournemouth

The title race had just got heated up with Leicester pulling 8 points away from us with a win yesterday.

And Pochettino knew that. Out of the Europa League, he would be concentrating fully on this title chase, or from another point of view, not letting 3rd placed Arsenal, who also won yesterday, from going above our heads. With Kane just making a guest appearance in the home game against Dortmund, he is expected to start this one.

Bournemouth is safe in mid-table at the moment with 38 points in total. Though manager Howe is probably more relaxed than those who were below him, he would probably try to scrap a win in the Lane to trip our championship chase.

Weekend Review - 20 March 2016

Manchester City vs Manchester United

One down, 2 to go. Good riddance to quash the LVG's optimism. And now he want to win the Manchester derby to make it for the 4th spot. Time to go, LVG. You are on borrowed time now.

By the end of the season, we will be empty handed and no European football for another season. Ed Woodward really have to let history repeat again that if Man Utd not able to get enough points to reach the 4th spot, the manager have to go.

Man Utd is eating 0.5 ball handicap. No punt. Man City to win and end a miserable week for LVG.

Fixture Focus - Spurs (17 Mar 2016)

Tottenham Hotspur vs Borussia Dortmund
(Europa League Round of 16, 2nd Leg)

An Europa League quarter final spot is at stake in this game, and the odds seem to favour the German side.

Pochettino had changed half the squad in last week's first leg game against Dortmund, which saw us being drubbed 3-0. Though this decision had brought some questions, for this return leg he did state that he would be trying to turn the game around. First teamers such as Kane, Lamela and Alli are poised to start.

Tuchel's Dortmund is coming to this game with a huge goal advantage. They have been on a good form lately in the Bundesliga and is looking to carry on that momentum in this fixture. A goal scored in the Lane would bring them a step closer to the quarter finals.

I have a feeling this could be our last European game for the season.

Midweek Review - 17 March 2016

Manchester United vs Liverpool

An unnecessary replay for the FA Cup quarter final against West Ham. West Ham should have enough chances to kill the game off and progress to the semi final. And if Man Utd win the return leg of the Europa League, they have no date for the FA Cup replay as it is meant for the Europa League.

Is either forego one of it, or both of it and concentrate on the league. With Liverpool having more rest, I really wish Liverpool will go for the kill. If we get knocked out of the remaining 2 cup competitions, I presume LVG will get more stick for it.

With an eye on another important fixture over the weekend to catch Man City, I dont see the week ending good for LVG as well.

The match is a level ball. No punt, expecting Liverpool to qualify and solve the fixtures congestion for Man Utd.

Results - EPL Prediction League Match Weekend 12 - 13 Mar 2016

It was another bountiful weekend where loads of points were grabbed, thanks largely to Kane's fantastic away performance against Aston Villa. KingMeng continues his reign as the current leader, managing to put a bit more distance between himself and his closest rival edwinsng. Everton rounds up the three-horse race while Voxeros slips a spot.

The Marksmen table also sees Voxeros taking an undisputed lead with 7 games, while ianrush, Bedokian, KingMeng, redherring and myself all got another exact prediction under our belts. This week was especially sweet for me as it may probably be the closest I'll ever get to a Perfect 10. Well, it was a real possibility until the 48th minute at Villa Park...

Fixture Focus - Spurs (13 Mar 2016)

Aston Villa FC vs Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs will be travelling away to Villa Park, homeground of struggling Aston Villa.

The midweek Europa League game against Dortmund did not turn up well for us, but to be fair we are playing with a very rotated squad. Nevertheless, domestically Spurs still has hope on the title chase, and will be deploying the players who did not go to Germany.

The Villans still has a mathematical chance of surviving the EPL, but being the team with the biggest goal difference, it does not bode well for them.

Weekend Review - 13 March 2016

Manchester United vs West Ham United

Here we go again after 2 successive losses to West Brom in the Premier League and Liverpool in the Europa League. Hopefully we will also crash out of the FA Cup by West Ham and we will also see Jose Mourinho speculation intensify again.

West Ham send Liverpool out of the FA Cup 4th round and is now in the quarterfinal stage. They are considered the favourite for this round of the FA Cup.

Man Utd is giving 0.5 handicap. No punt. West Ham to win and progress to the semi-final.

Fixture Focus - Spurs (10 Mar 2016)

Borussia Dortmund vs Tottenham Hotspur
(Europa League, Round of 16, First Leg)

Spurs is travelling to Germany for the 1st leg of the Europa League Round of 16. This match, I would say, is going to be one of the toughest Spurs is going to face.

And Pochettino knows this, too, so there is a likelihood that he would bring the first teamers there, with the exception of Alli as he was suspended. Son would probably be no stranger to this stadium as he had played in the Bundesliga for a while.

Dortmund is currently riding high in the Bundesliga, at second place chasing leaders Bayern Munich (much like our situation right now), with whom they had drawn in a goalless game just over the weekend. Quality players such as Hummels and ex-Manchester United Kagawa is ready for us.

Both sides have never met in UEFA competitions, so this would be a mouthwatering match.

Midweek Review - 11 March 2016

Liverpool vs Manchester United

An unlikely loss to West Brom and drop to 6th in the standings. West Ham and a resurgent Liverpool seem to be fighting with Man City and Man Utd for the 4th spot. This season the top half of the table seem more interesting than the bottom half.

Anyway, we will take our eyes off to face Liverpool in the Europa League over 2 legs with an FA Cup in between. This is the first time they face each other in an European competition since the birth of Premier League in 1992. It is also good in a way that the distance travelled is not in a disadvantage. And there is no domestic league distraction.

Man Utd is eating 0.5 handicap. LVG have not lost to Liverpool ever since he came on board. I expect this statistic will continue.

Results - EPL Prediction League Match Weekend 5 - 6 Mar 2016

KingMeng continues to claw on to the top of the table this week, and becomes the first this season to hit the century. The four-horse race is also maintained, but Everton and Voxeros are now tied for third.

Once again, we have a bumper crop of Marksmen for the Crystal Palace-Liverpool match. Well done to KingMeng, edwinsng, Voxeros, ianrush and redherring for their exact predictions. Interestingly enough, this happened to also be my weekend, being the only 6-pointer with an exact prediction for the game at White Hart Lane. Not that it changes anything, but still...

Fixture Focus - Spurs (5 Mar 2016)

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal FC

There is no better time for this fixture to happen. Both emerged as losers during their midweek league games, so this serves as a kind of showdown against each other.

Pochettino knew that this will be a big game and likely post a first team lineup, although he is aware of the upcoming match against Europa finalist favourites Borussia Dortmund. Dembele could make it back for the team selection after his long absence due to injury, and Alli may appear in the substitute bench.

Arsenal has been in not-so-good form recently; they had won only twice out of the last six league games, and is plagued with injuries including their first choice keeper Cech and Koscielny.

This match is viewed as the battle for second place. Whoever wins this will have the right to chase after Leicester.

Weekend Preview - 6 March 2016

West Brom vs Manchester United

The 3 points were a great relief as we thought the match will be heading to a goal-less draw. We are level on points with Man City but they have a match in hand.

We have a busy month in March as we have 2 cup competition and a derby with Man City. But first, we will head to Hawthorns to face West Brom. Somehow the mood has changed, even the speculation in Jose Mourinho appointment in the summer has died down.

Man Utd is giving 0.5 handicap. We need the youngsters to raise to the occasion again. Take Man Utd for the win.

Fixture Focus - Spurs (2 Mar 2016)

West Ham United FC vs Tottenham Hotspur

Two important derby games are coming hard and fast within the next 3 days. First up would be West Ham.

Spurs will be travelling a short distance away to the east side of London for this midweek clash. Talks of clinching the title are getting louder by the minute, especially so with Leicester’s draw against WBA this morning, but Pochettino is refusing to comment on it. Alli will be making a late fitness test to ascertain his availability for this big game.

The Hammers are not too bad themselves with winning 3 and drawing 1 of their last 5 league games. Sakho, who was injured for the past few months, is expected to make a comeback for this game.

With the North London derby coming this weekend, these 2 games would be a great test for our mettle.

Midweek Review - 2 March 2016

Manchester United vs Watford

Well, now our hero is none other than Marcus Rashford who scored twice and assist one in his debut in the Premier League. He doesnt look raw or inexperienced at all. He took the big stage like a walk in the park. Well done, hope you keep your feet on the ground and keep contributing. In a way, it make LVG job look good now.

We will have another home game against Watford in the midweek. If we win and Man City lose to Liverpool, we will still be fifth due to Man City's goal difference and will have 1 game in hand.

Man Utd is giving 0.75 handicap. If Rashford is given a chance to continue his form, I will take Man Utd to win this match.
