Midweek Review (7 Jan 2009)

Derby County vs Manchester United

"And the opponent for the next round is none other than Tottenham Hotspur."

-Gary, 07/01/2009

Before this match kicked off, we had the FA Cup 4th round draw. And the opponent for the next round is none other than Tottenham Hotspur. I got a feeling Manchester United is sick of facing them already.

So Fergie have opt out Ronaldo, Rooney for this match. I dont think he will field them in tonight's match either as there is a big clash this coming weekend. Expect the same line-up for tonight's match.

I dont know whether i should echo Jaywalk's view of throwing the match away to concentrate on the Premiership and the Champions League. Fergie have expressed his desire to win all 4. The last person to say that was Jose Mourinho and in the end only win 2. With games in hand to catch up the league leaders, Liverpool and facing Inter Milan managed by Jose Mouinho, in the Champions League is not easy but not impossible.

Well, have to quote some football manager who say this, "We take one match at a time."

Derby Team News: Martin Albrechtsen and Jordan Stewart are out.

Manchester United Team News: Carlos Tevez is expected to replace Dimitar Berbatov.

Odds and Analysis: With Carlos Tevez scoring in every round in the League Cup, and Man Utd is giving 1.25 ball handicap. Take it.
