Less than 24 hours ago, we have received confirmation that it is going to be a Spurs - Man Utd final for the Carling Cup, despite a scary match which nearly saw us being seen off by a determined Burnley, only to be rescued by Pavlyuchenko and Defoe in extra time.
But now, the two teams will meet, possibly as a dress rehearsal for the Carling Cup final game, in this 4th round FA Cup fixture this Saturday.
Harry Redknapp, in the interview after the Burnley game, had indicated that he would not be fielding a stronger side in Old Trafford. Likewise, the Red Devils themselves are plagued by injuries in their first squad. With both teams facing injury woes, this match-up would be a bit disinteresting to watch.
These 2 teams, with a rich FA Cup tradition on their belts, and one of them will be eliminated from this year's competition.
