Fixture Focus–Spurs (EPL, 20 November 2010)

Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur

North London derbies are always the talk of the town.  In this the 147th league meeting between us and our arch rivals, many would be expecting an exciting affair with the squad we have this season.

The reality is that we have not won on Arsenal soil since 1993 although we did have a great 2-1 win against them the last time we met in the league (breaking a streak of 21 league matches without a win against them) at the Lane.  Both sides looks defensively vulnerable. Arsenal remain without Thomas Vermaelen, while injuries to Ledley King and Michael Dawson have robbed Spurs of their first-choice centre-backs.  Gallas will definitely get to start against his old team and we will see if the fans will be kind to him.

With Defoe almost ready to return, we will see if Redknapp will keep to his attacking formation that worked so well against Blackburn and play 2 up front this weekend.  Regardless, I believe the derby will be exciting and I would not miss it for the world….COYS!!!
