Weekend Review - 6 May 2012

Manchester United vs Swansea City

The title is out of our hands at the moment. From 8 points lead and cut till Man City overtake us on goal difference, it takes a miracle as both Manchester teams will be looking at each other results till next week where it is the final day of the season.

This season, the current team have fail to live up to the expectations. Knocked out early in the Carling Cup, Champions League and FA Cup, and with Fergie stating that the team is in transition, he has to act fast in the off-season by going into transfer market for experienced defenders and midfielders to take the load of Rio Ferdinand, Vidic and the duo of Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes.

And with the competition increase for Champions League places for teams like Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool and Tottenham, there is no confirmation that the Big 4(Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool) will be guarantee to be at the top of the standings permanently in the coming seasons.

Next season, we get to see Reading and Southampton as the latter has been missing from the top flight since 04/05. Southampton was further relegated to the second division (or third division by the older generation) in 09/10 before gaining promotion in successive season to the promised land next season.
