Midweek Review - 19 Feb 2016

Midtjylland vs Manchester United

We lost to Sunderland where they are fighting against relegation. Have this been during Fergie time, we would have won easily. This show how bad LVG tactics or Man Utd players are at the moment.

We will head to Denmark for Europa League to face Midtjylland. People seem to suggest that if Man Utd wins the Europa League, they can still go to Champions League next season. Who in the right mind will allow England 5 spots in the Champions League next season? The last time it happened, Liverpool won the 2005 Champions League and finished 5th in the EPL. However, they do not have "country protection" as they could face any English club in the Champions League group stages.

Midtjylland is also not a pushover. They dumped out Southampton in the qualifying stage before the group stages. And yes, we are all hoping for Midtjylland to do another miracle.

Man Utd is giving 0.75 handicap. No punt for them.

I wonder if loyalty in football is a virtue.

I believe you are referring to the players. If a club is playing Champions League football every season (guaranteed plus chop), then you will see a different mentality. But then again, they will get complacent.

But we are seeing money walk the talk. Increased revenue from TV, sponsorship that bid the highest, agents who wants a percentage of the transfer fee.

Loyalty is a virtue, no doubt about that, but it has lost in the wanderland of the sporting world.
