Fixture Focus - Spurs (22 Nov 2012)

Società Sportiva Lazio vs Tottenham Hotspur
(Europa League Group Stage)

Even before this game started, there has been news of violence, with the injury of 10 Spurs fans outside a pub in Rome. I would like to appeal to all sides concerned to be calm, for football is supposed to bring the world together, not to divide.

Back on the pitch front, our Spurs boys will be facing Lazio at their home turf, and in Italian football standards, the home ground is really a home ground, and not an easy place to play. With a string of EPL losses, AVB is determined to make this game a morale-boosting one, and he will spare no effort in fielding a strong side. With Adebayor suspended for the EPL game, it makes sense in starting him for this one. Caulker is back but Dembele is still unfit.

Lazio will be without defender Dias and midfielder Ederson, who are on the injury list, but  manager Petkovic would have the remaining Lazio first-teamers in full force for this game. A win for them and it is a guaranteed qualification to the Round of 32.

A great game coming up, hopefully we could emulate our good performance in Italy during the 2010/2011 Champions League season.

COYS!
