Fixture Focus - Spurs (12 Feb 2014)

Newcastle United vs Tottenham Hotspur 

The midweek fixture will see us travelling up to the northeast to St James’ Park, stronghold of the Toon Army. Spurs have never won there for almost a decade. 

The players available to Sherwood would be similar to the game against Everton, with Sandro, Lamela and Chiriches  being the only long term first teamers not on the team bus. Adebayor could continue with his goal scoring form, and we hope to see a partnership with Soldado up front. 

Newcastle has been dreary lately with only 1 win out of the past 7 games. Pardew also faced a long list of unavailable players with Tiote, Colocccini, Debuchy and Remy out, but he could call on the services of Cisse, Gouffran and Obertan who just returned from injuries. 

A team that needed to get out from a winless rut versus a team that needed to continue chasing the top 4. Who will prevail?

Midweek Review - 12 Feb 2014

Arsenal vs Manchester United

Even the worst team in the Premier League, we also cant get a win. We ARE the laughing stock now. 10 months is all it took to change everything from being the best to the worst. And mind you, the worst is yet to come as what i mentioned previously. Mass exodus of current players at the end of the season if Moyes is still around.

And there is no better time to face Arsenal as Moyes struggled to find the winning mentality. Frankly speaking, i have nothing to mention except the crisis that we are in right now. 

Man Utd is eating 0.25. No punt.

Results - EPL Prediction 08 - 09 Feb 2014

In a way, it is good for Liverpool *grit teeth* to win which throws the title race wide open for a very exciting season to follow.

The bad news is that ManUtd is not in the race.

The worse news is ManUtd is not even in contention for a Europa Cup spot.

The worst news is the Fair Play Award is starting to look REALLY attractive. #NoPrideLiao

20 teams in the EPL and we have seen 7 managers given the boot. Ferdinand hinted a #8 in the pipeline. Could he be referring to Moyes?

Anyone think SAR will be back from retirement a second time and that we will only let him go when he dies?

In other news, I wish Arsene Wenger's butt a speedy recovery both from the spanking and the fall.

Fixture Focus - Spurs (9 Feb 2014)

Tottenham Hotspur vs Everton FC

Considered a 6-pointer game by some pundits, the Spurs vs Everton fixture will see who climbs further up in the top quarter of the EPL table, with just 1 point separating these 2 sides.

With Chiriches out due to an unspecified injury, Vertonghen and Dawson would be partnering in the centre defence, along with Rose and Walker on either side.  Adebayor has debunked injury fears sustained during the Hull game and will return to the lineup, partnering with a still off-form Soldado up front.

Martinez's Everton would be without Lukaku and Kone, but their quality players such as Baines, Mirallas and Osman would pose problems for us.

Both sides knew a draw would not be enough, and both sides are chasing that prized top 4 finish in the table.

Weekend Review - 9 Feb 2014

Manchester United vs Fulham

The defeat against Stoke is definitely hard to stomach when you thought your beloved team will turn the corner after signing Juan Mata. Wrong, very very wrong. David Moyes has, in an overnight, turn Mata into a normal footballer. I think if the end of the season not able to get into the top 4, we will see exodus of the current players leaving, which should be the least of our mind at the moment.

Most importantly we need to see a change of results and get into top 4. If not David Moyes should be the one that is out as he didnt really get the best of all the players.

We have Fulham visiting us and again this 3 points is needed very badly. Not going to expect a clear cut winner when the team goes against your expectation.

Man Utd is giving 2 ball. No punt for Man Utd at this point of time.

Hull City FC vs Tottenham Hotspur

A happy Lunar New Year to all our readers! And may we begin the Horse year with galloping success!

Setting aside the nightmare on Thursday, Spurs will be going to the KC stadium to face Hull City. Rose is available after a successful appeal against his red card, and Vertonghen and Paulinho are now ready for the starting lineup. 

On the Hull side, Livermore is not playable as he is on loan from us, and new striker signings Long and Jelavic may be making their home debuts in this game.
