Manchester United vs Stoke City

A narrow win against Zorya, and we have the first 3 points after 2 games played in Europa League. And next we have Stoke City visiting us with the 3rd home game in a row.

We will continue to chase Man City as they will face Tottenham as their first big test to the title.

Man Utd is giving 1.5 handicap. Doubt Man Utd will clear the handicap. But expect Man Utd will win the game.

Midweek Preview - 28 Sep 2016

Manchester United vs Zorya Luhansk

A major change in the line up work wonder for the whole team. Rooney was dropped and we scored 4 goals without reply against Leicester in the first half. Although we took our foot off in the second half, the damage has been done.

Furthermore, we also seen in this match that there is unpredictability from the players. Short passes, long balls but we are attacking forward, instead of passing sideways.

We will have Zorya Luhansk, a team from Ukraine, playing against us in the Europa League. Little is known against them as we only know the well known Shahtak Donetsk. Another match that we will see major changes to keep fresh legs for the domestic league.

Man Utd is giving 2 balls handicap. We need a win against them to keep hopes alive in progressing to the next round. Take Man Utd for the win.

Results - EPL Prediction League Match Weekend 24 - 25 Sep 2016

Well that didn't take long at all, for me to be once again in the familiar territory of bottom half of the table, thanks to the interestingly palindrome results. Voxeros maintains his 3-point lead at the top, but the gap between all players is still close. 

Congratulations to cool402 and Mr White for managing to obtain 6-pointer status over the weekend.

Fixture Focus - Spurs (24 Sep 2016)

Middlesbrough FC vs Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs will be travelling to the Riverside Stadium, home of Middlesbrough FC.

After a good start in the League Cup campaign, Spurs is now back to EPL action. Kane will be out injured for quite a while, so Janssen is filling his place for this game and in the weeks to come. 

For Boro, besides Da Silva and Leadbitter who are out injured, Karanka has the whole team at his disposal for their home game.

This match is also a gathering of sorts for the 2 managers, who had played each other before during their playing days in Spain.

Weekend Preview - 24 Sep 2016

Manchester United vs Leicester City

We are through to the 4th round of EFL Cup and face the blue half of Manchester next month. Now we have 3 straight home games which Mourinho have built a fortress in Chelsea, Porto, Inter Milan and Real Madrid. Hope he can continue his "home form" in Manchester United.

We will have Leicester City visiting us and we are now 6 points behind Manchester City. The task of catching is harder now due to the face that Man City are getting stronger every game. But then again, they have not face any big teams test yet.

Manchester United is giving 0.75 handicap. We have faced them in the Community Shield and won 2-1. Same scoreline as well?

Fixture Focus - Spurs (21 Sep 2016)

Tottenham Hotspur vs Gillingham FC

(League Cup Third Round)

Spurs is kicking off the League Cup campaign with hosting the League One side Gillingham.

Kane is out due to an ankle injury incurred from the Sunderland game, so we may see Janssen deputising him for this match. Pochettino could also field some youngsters in the line-up.

Gillingham FC would be missing midfielder O'Hara.

This should be a walk in the park for Spurs, barring any surprises.

Midweek Preview - 22 Sep 2016

Northampton vs Manchester United

3rd straight loss and things are not looking good for Mourinho and team. Watford rightfully win against Man Utd was the first since 1986.

Anyway, we have the English Football League Cup distraction. We will face Northampton in Sixfields Stadium. Mourinho could make changes to the entire line up and give the reserves the chance for some action.

Man Utd is giving 1.5 handicap. Team morale not looking good at the moment. No punt on this match.

Fixture Focus - Spurs (18 Sep 2016)

Tottenham Hotspur vs Sunderland AFC

Putting aside the defeat at Wembley against Monaco, Spurs has to get back in focus for the EPL.

Back at The Lane, Spurs play hosts to visiting Sunderland, who is currently sitting at the table second from bottom. Rose is still out injured, but expect Pochettino to field a full strong squad.

Moyes' men are currently winless in their 16/17 league campaign, so they are hoping to turn things around here. Spurs alumni Defoe and Pienaar are likely to start.

Watford vs Manchester United

A disappointing loss to Feyenoord and now we are last in the table as the other result end in a draw. Currently no points, again we have to make our life difficult for the remaining European fixtures.

We will head to Vicarage Road to visit Watford for an early Sunday kickoff. And need a positive result to uplift players' morale.

Man Utd is giving 0.75 handicap. Mourinho will put his first 11 to catch up with Man City. Take Man Utd for the win and handicap.

Fixture Focus - Spurs (14 Sep 2016)

Tottenham Hotspur vs AS Monaco FC

(UEFA Champions League Group Stage, Game 1)

After 6 long years, Spurs is now back in the UEFA Champions League, and the first game of the competition will be up against Monaco, who are currently top of the French Ligue 1.

The good news is Dembele is available for this game, and we may be able to see new signing Sissoko debuting as well (2 Moussas on the field....OK bad joke). Rose is still out from the injury sustained during the international break.

Monaco is currently doing well in Ligue 1, at the top of the table with 3 wins and 1 draw. This is a different Monaco from the one that we met back in the Europa League group stage last season, so expect some tough competition.

One thing to point out is that this game would be in played in Wembley (yes, Wembley, that big stadium), due to the construction work that is going on in the Lane.

Midweek Preview - 15 Sep 2016

Feyenoord vs Manchester United

An exciting derby that end in a loss to our favour. We are currently third in the table, with Chelsea earning a draw against Swansea.

We will start our Europa League campaign in a group contain Feyenoord, Zorya Luhansk and Fernerbance. We will head to Holland to face Feyenoord.

We will also have our Carling Cup opponents next week against Northampton. Out of sudden fixtures are coming thick and fast. Hopefully we will see how Jose Mourinho rotate the squad to avoid burnout even before the end of the season.

Man Utd is giving 0.75 handicap. Europa League game format same as Champions League. We need to start strongly, qualify with games to spare and able to give fringe players some match fitness. Take Man Utd for the win and the handicap.

Stoke City FC vs Tottenham Hotspur

For this weekend's fixture, Spurs will be heading to the Bet365 Stadium, home of Stoke City FC.

Spurs will be missing Rose, who picked up an injury during the international break, and Davies will stand in for him. Dembele is still serving his suspension, but good news is he will be back in the next game.

Stoke is facing a huge injury problem, with the likes of Diouf and Shaqiri out of the lineup. To add to the predicament, they are currently bottom of the table with 1 draw and 2 losses since the season started. This game is a must win for them.

We will have the first Manchester derby this weekend after the international break. Both Manchester clubs have 100% record with Chelsea that occupy the top 3 standing in the league.

What make this derby so special is that we will see Mourinho and Pep Guardiola rivalry at Old Trafford, right from the time where they manage Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Manchester United is giving 0.25 handicap. Hopefully this match will end in an entertaining draw to share the spoil. Not going to take Man Utd handicap.
