Tottenham Hotspur vs Burnley FC
(Carling Cup Semi-Finals, 1st Leg)
(Carling Cup Semi-Finals, 1st Leg)
Championship side Burnley FC had done us a favour by knocking out our greatest rival in their previous Carling Cup adventure, but we cannot return that favour as it is they who would be meeting us next in this 2-legged semi finals, the first at White Hart Lane.
The Clarets (as they are called) surprised everyone when they knocked out Arsenal and going close to realise their dream of obtaining a cup silverware since the late 70s. Spurs will definitely have to field their first team to secure a comfortable home win, though a few of our key players cannot play due to suspensions and injuries.
Plenty of attacking football in this game.
And, on a sidenote, Jermain Defoe has returned to the Lane, though it is a bit late for him to appear in this game.
Spurs shall defend the Carling Cup, and defend it we shall!
COYS!!!!!
