Tottenham Hotspur vs Liverpool
The second meeting in less than 2 weeks and within the same fixture setting, Spurs is playing host to the Reds from Merseyside this Wednesday for the Carling Cup fixture. After our outstanding performance against them on 1 Nov 2008, would this be a redux?
However, the Liverpool we are facing may not be the same squad that we faced back in our victory 12 days ago. As with Manchester United and the-team-which-shall-not-be-named (i.e. ArseNAL), they may field a second string side to go through the motion, with the Champions League and maintaining their chase for the top league position being their better priorities.
Spurs, however, would be defending this cup, in the name of professionalism. After all, we beat the Chelsea first team to get the cup in the last season, and it was the break in our silverware drought.
I would say we bring on our first team, and maybe one of two of our talented youngsters, and play the game.
We shall defend the Carling Cup.
