Results - EPL Prediction League Match Weekend 13 - 14 Feb 2016

It was a bumper weekend for Marksmen as we saw FIVE exact predictions for the Arsenal-Leicester match. Congratulations to Voxeros, edwinsng, KingMeng and myself for moving up the Marksmen table, and also Mr White for notching his first this season.

Even though there were bountiful points grabbed this round, KingMeng managed to hold on to his slender 1-point lead, and the race is now back to being a 3-horse tie. I don't expect this to remain though, as this season has been one of many unpredictable results.

Housekeeping Notes: All of this season's tables will eventually be kept in a Flickr photoset.

Fixture Focus - Spurs (14 Feb 2016)

Manchester City FC vs Tottenham Hotspur

Happy Valentine's Day! Although this is a day of love and romance, there is no love lost today between the current top 4 teams as they will face each other in 2 games. Our game is the second.

Both games will change the dynamics of the top 4 placing, and Pochettino knew this. He is likely to bring along his first team to the blue half of Manchester, which means players such as Walker and Lloris are starting. There is no room for mistakes at this juncture.

Man City had just emerged from a defeat to current leaders Leicester, so this could be a "punching bag" game of sorts for them (with us being the punching bag, of course). Pellegrini still harbours hopes of getting the title this season.

Weekend Review - 13 Feb 2016

Sunderland vs Manchester United

It was a 1 point gained rather than 2 points loss in the Chelsea match. Alot of people are pinpointing Depay for the fault that lead to Chelsea's goal, but does anyone see David de Gea's saves that keep Man Utd in the game?

Yes, we lost ground on chasing Leicester but they face Arsenal this weekend, and this is the chance to win against Sunderland and cut the lead.

Man Utd is giving 0.75 handicap. Take Man Utd for the win.

Results - EPL Prediction League Match Weekend 6 - 7 Feb 2016

Happy Year of the Monkey everyone!

The first pair of results in this lunar new year definitely lives up to the Chinese Zodiac, throwing a monkey wrench into leader KingMeng's previously sizable lead. The race to the top is now up for grabs for SIX hopefuls. Only 1 point separates the reigning champ from the nearest contender edwinsng.

Congratulations to cool402 and edwinsng for also progressing up the Marksman table, as well as Mr White for being one of two 6-pointers this week.

Housekeeping Notes: All of this season's tables will eventually be kept in a Flickr photoset.

Fixture Focus - Spurs (6 Feb 2016)

Tottenham Hotspur vs Watford FC

This weekend's game sees Spurs playing hosts to visitors Watford.

Spurs are now third in the table, and more work and perseverance are needed to maintain it that way. Since Vertonghen is out due to injury on a mid term basis, the newfound partnership between Wimmer and Alderweireld has to develop quickly in order to soak up the pressure not just in this game, but the immediate future games as well.

This is a homecoming for our ex-keeper Gomes, who is now playing against us as the goalkeeper of Watford. Welcome back Gomes!

Weekend Review - 6 Feb 2016

Chelsea vs Manchester United

Out of sudden, Man Utd turned back old school and start scoring for fun. Ending a record of no goal in the first half. Destroyed a helpless Stoke and now we are 5 points behind 4th spot Arsenal. Surprise leaders Leicester are still going on strong with Man City and Tottenham the realistic challengers for the title.

We will visit Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea and we need a result to keep going. At the moment Chelsea is unbeaten since Guus Hiddink took over.

Man Utd is eating 0.25 handicap. I think this game will end in a draw. Take Man Utd for the handicap and win half of the punt.

Fixture Focus - 2 Feb 2016

Norwich City FC vs Tottenham Hotspur

This midweek fixture sees Spurs travelling to Carrow Road, home of the Canaries. Both sides had just met on Boxing Day last year, which Spurs emerged as 3-0 winners.

At the moment, 5 points separate us from fifth-placed Manchester United. Vertonghen is out of action for a long while after the last league game in Crystal Palace, so Wimmer, who had started in the FA Cup clash against Colchester, will step up to take his place. Dele Alli is set to start as well.

Norwich is currently hovering above the relegation zone. Things do not bode well for manager Neil, having lost the last 3 league games. New loan signing Bamford from Chelsea could provide some spark in their prospects.

Midweek Review - 2 Feb 2016

Manchester United vs Stoke

We won against Derby in the FA Cup and now we got Shrewsbury Town as our next opponent. And LVG defiantly going to stay till the end of his contract despite the negative tactics that he has put in place.

We will have Stoke visiting us and they are also a bogey team like West Ham to Liverpool. We have lost against them earlier this season, and hopefully we can take notice and win them to chase the leaders.

Man Utd is giving 0.75 handicap. First half remain scoreless and we will see goals in the second half. No punt in this match.
