Weekend Review - 21 Sep 2014

Leicester City vs Manchester United

Finally a result against QPR send Man Utd to the top half of the table, just a point behind Arsenal and Liverpool. Hope the winning momentum will keep going.

We will head to King Power Stadium to face Leicester City and is expected to have all 3 points again to climb up the table.

A new look Man Utd give us the optimism that we can challenge the honours and a return to the Champions League.

Man Utd is giving 0.75 handicap. Take Man Utd for the handicap and the win.

Fixture Focus–Spurs (EPL, 21 September 2014)

Tottenham Hotspur vs West Brom

The lads regroup and refocus on the weekend after a tricky fixture away on Thursday.

 

Pochettino will have quite a strong squad of available players to choose from. I hope he saw on Thursday that there was no fluidity when his “B” team of starters played. Captain of the day Lloris intimated that the pitch was the culprit. Regardless, we only started to threaten more when Lamela and Soldado were introduced at the 59th minute mark.

 

I expect all the first stringers to be available for selection against the Baggies and I feel that we will have the quality to win comfortably on Sunday.

Fixture Focus - Spurs (18 Sep 2014)

FK Partizan vs Tottenham Hotspur

 (Europa League Group Stage)

Kicking off the Europa League campaign proper, Spurs will be travelling to Serbia to face FK Partizan, better known as Partizan Belgrade, who were second in the Serbian League last season.

Pochettino had indicated he would be shuffling players for the plane to Serbia, keeping in mind the weekend EPL game against WBA. Adebayor, Kaboul and Chadli remained behind, but Soldado, new keeper Vorm and Fazio are likely to be in the team lineup.

Partizan would be without their suspended striker Skuletic.

With the new rule stipulating that Europa League winners able to qualify for the Champions League next season, this competition will take a very interesting turn, both on the field and off.

A ten-point haul sees me back at the top of the table while last week's leader Mr White's absence see him tumbling 2 places to joint-3rd with ihawk98 and Everton.

Weekend Review - 14 Sep 2014

Manchester United vs QPR

After the international break, we will give first team debut to Falcao, Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera against QPR. Oh, and Angel Di Maria although he has played in the 0-0 draw against Burnley.

We did not have a good start as expected, but we will get it right.

Man Utd is giving 1.75 handicap. I hope Man Utd will get it right this time and get the 3 points on board.

Fixture Focus - Spurs (13 Sep 2014)

Sunderland AFC vs Tottenham Hotspur

After a 1 week hiatus due to the Euro qualifiers, the EPL is now back in action. Spurs will be heading to the northeast to Sunderland, managed by our old boy Poyet.

Not on the team bus will be Soldado and Walker, both out due to injuries. Whether our new signings Stambouli and Fazio on the team bus is anybody's guess, but mine will be a yes. With the transfer window closed, Pochettino will be forming up his tactics and formation and this will be clearer in the coming weeks.

Poyet also has 2 new signings at his disposal, Coates and Alvarez, from Liverpool and Inter Milan respectively. With no win so far, he will place his stakes higher against his old club.

It was good while it lasted as I relinquish my lead to Mr White, while the other two Marksmen of the weekend caught up with me to a three-way runner up tussle.
