Results - EPL Prediction 27 - 28 Apr 2013

Big disaster weekend for ianrush as he totally tanked, leaving the race wide open. Mr White and cool402 are now hot on his heels just 2 points away.

It was a terrible weekend for me as well as I slumped to joint-4th with KingMeng.

Fixture Focus - Spurs (27 Apr 2013)

WIGAN ATHLETIC VS TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

From now till the end of the season, every game is important to us for that CL spot, and for Wigan every game is important for their survival.

A mouth-watering match, given this deadly combo of playing a game with 2 different big aims. AVB sees it as it is as well, and he may employ the same lineup that saw off Manchester City's league title hopes. Lennon is now fit again, though likely to be on the bench.

Wigan will have their hands full against our juggernaut, but they do have some talented players, an example of it will be their striker Kone.

As I had mentioned earlier, it will be an exciting game. COYS!!!!

PS-Typing this on my mobile. No fun at all :)

Weekend Review - 28 Apr 2013

Arsenal vs Manchester United

Man Utd is officially Barclays Premier League Champions for the 20th time after beating Aston Villa from a Van Persie hattrick.

This Sun is all the more heartbreak for Arsenal as they have to form a guard of honor for the Champions and Van Persie.

With the title already sewn up, spotlight will again be on the remaining 3rd and 4th place for the Champions League spot and relegation fight. This weekend, we might see 1 team to go down first  regardless of the other team results, or even both teams at the same time if both end with a draw. Hmmmm.....

Man Utd is eating 0.25 handicap. Since Tottenham have help us to be champions earlier by winning against Man City, hopefully we could also help them back by beating Arsenal. On the other hand, Tottenham have a game in hand against Chelsea. All 3 teams are just 1 point between each other, and any negative results will have a very big significance to the final position of the standings.

Results - EPL Prediction 20 - 21 Apr 2013

It seems that everyone stumbled this weekend not learning the lessons that I did when I kept my faith on QPR earlier in the season only to be let down again and again.

Looks like the lessons had paid off for me (but not for the rest of you guys) as I find myself at a dizzy height of 2nd spot just 4 points behind league leader ianrush and we have what? 4 more match weekends to go? I actually have a shot at this!

Congrats also to Arrenn for being the only 6 pointer of the weekend to sit nicely at joint-6th.

Midweek Review - 21 Apr 2013

Manchester United vs Aston Villa

I delay writing this review as I need to wait for the full time results between Tottenham and Man City. Since Spurs has won, we only need 1 more game to have the title heading to Old Trafford.

We only have 5 games left and a 13 points lead. As long we win, the title is ours. Simple equation as that.

Next season we will have 2 Welsh clubs in the Premier League. Other than Swansea, we will have to visit Cardiff City as well. Reading and QPR are closer to the relegation trap door with 1 more game remaining after losing their games.

Man Utd giving 1.75 handicap. No punt even if Man Utd score only the solitary goal and result a win and the championship.

Fixture Focus–Spurs (EPL, 21 April 2013)

Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester City

I’m not gonna lie. There are tough games ahead.

AVB has announced that our attacking trio of Defoe, Lennon and Bale are available for selection this Sunday. The question is, which of them will actually start. There’s no secret that Spurs need to win every game from now on to cement a Champions League spot. We’ve had 9 days of rest since the debacle in Basel and fresh legs and focus will do our players good.

City will have Tevez who is in good form recently but I know we have the determination to get a result at the Lane this Sunday. It may be a tough match, but that’s where tenacity will play a part.

May the spirit of 1882 and the fans singing take us onward and upward!

Midweek Review - 17 Apr 2013

West Ham United vs Manchester United

With normal service resumed, we notched up another win against Stoke to another step closer to the title. 6 more games, 15 points lead and if we win against West Ham tonight, we only need 1 point against Aston Villa to clinch champions.

Since the champions is a matter of time when it will announced, we can shift the spotlight to the 3rd and 4th Champions League place and the relegation fight. The Champions League places is tightly contested with Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal, with Everton and Liverpool further behind. As for Europa next season, we will see Wigan and Swansea participating as they are in the FA Cup final and winners of the Capital One Cup respectively.

Relegation fight, we will be seeing Reading, QPR, Sunderland, Aston Villa, Stoke, Wigan, Newcastle and Norwich for the final 3 berth. With the last 2 teams comprising of QPR and Reading needing 10points from the last 5 games to secure safety for next season, is looking bleaker every game has played.

Man Utd is giving 0.75 handicap. Take Man Utd for the win and will hold off the celebration to this weekend.
