Tottenham Hotspur vs Everton FC

Both teams had just played their midweek European games, and both had advanced to the Europa Round of 32.

Now back home, Spurs must shake off the constant hangover that plagued us for many seasons. Also, adding the fact that we have the worst home form in the current EPL season, Pochettino would have to do something to salvage that, though his selection for this game is still slightly limited due to injuries.

The Toffees are looking forward to get some players back for this clash, in particular Baines and Barry.

An interesting game as traditionally Everton had always gave us a hard time, whether home or away.

Weekend Review - 29 Nov 2014

Manchester United vs Hull City

An unexpected win against Arsenal as we are hit by alot of injuries, though we will still take it as it comes. And now we are fourth and at the final spot of the Champions League for next season.

The festive fixtures are coming soon and we are hoping for all the injuries to be ease and have extra leg to last.

We will have Hull City visiting us and we welcome former defender Steve Bruce back to OT. He is currently managing Hull and hope to get the first win against his old team.

Man Utd is giving 1.5 handicap. Again no punt as Man Utd will go for the odd goal win.

Fixture Focus - Spurs (27 Nov 2014)

Tottenham Hotspur vs FK Partizan

(Europa League Group Stage)

Emerging from a win against Hull over the last weekend, Spurs is set to reignite their winning ways when the Serbian side comes visiting at the Lane.

The last encounter with Partizan ended with a draw, but a win tonight would guarantee Spurs’ place in the Round of 32. However, Pochettino is facing selection problems with many players sidelined due to injuries and suspension, so there might be a chance where he may dig into the reserve squad.

Partizan’s European campaign is considered as over, but they could still play the role of party spoilers and would display what most people said as “the last burst of fire”.

Everyone was floored by the Palace scalp over Liverpool, which leaves us with only the Leicester-Sunderland game to fight for.

Congrats to Arrenn, Beaver and Bedokian for predicting a draw to earn the 3 precious points.

Watch out for Arrenn who has been sneakily, over the weeks, climbing up the ladder to perch on joint-sixth with Mr White and myself this week. Well done, old chap!

Weekend Review - 22 Nov 2014

Arsenal vs Manchester United

Not sure if the international break is good or bad for us, as we suddenly have more injuries in the treatment room than those who are fit to play in the field.

We will visit Arsenal and is not a good time to play against them with a depleted team to even field 11 players.

Man Utd is eating 0.25 handicap. No punt as LVG not able to field a full team against Arsenal.

Hull City vs Tottenham Hotspur

 

Which Spurs side will show up?

The international break may not have come at the best time as it takes away valuable coaching time from Pochettino and his still unsettled team. Going to the KC Stadium to face a tenacious Hull City team is not an easy fixture. Old boys galore will feature as  Hull will have Dawson, Huddlestone and Livermore in their ranks against us.

Townsend and Rose are doubtful with injuries. Naughton is serving his suspension so I do expect Dier and Ben Davies to get the starts as the wingbacks. I am hopeful that whatever is “poisoning” the team spirit is lifted and everyone huddles together to get a good result. We are unbeaten against Hull in all competitions since 5 October 2008 and that should be a morale booster.

There is still all to play for this season.

Weekend Review - 8 Nov 2014

Manchester United vs Crystal Palace

A loss against Man City with a stupid sending off from Smalling and injury from Marcos Rojo depleted our non-existence back 4. LVG need to go in the coming transfer window to shore up the defence.

We will have Crystal Palace visiting us, although Zaha will not be travelling due to injury.

Man Utd is giving 1.5 handicap. I doubt Man Utd could clear the handicap, but could win the match.

Fixture Focus - Spurs (9 Nov 2014)

Tottenham Hotspur vs Stoke City FC

Spurs is playing host to the Potters for this Sunday's early kick-off.

Consistency will be on the minds of most Spurs fans as this game is classified under a potential "European hangover", after our win against the Greek side Asterias Tripolis. Adebayor did not make the trip to Greece, so expect him to start in the lineup.

Except for the long term injuries such as Huth and Odemwingie, Hughes has no other concern for his team selection. We might see the return of our old boy Crouch.

Currently the middle of the table is at a very tight spread, and a loss could mean a big drop down.

Fixture Focus–Spurs (Europa, 7 November 2014)

Asteras Tripoli vs Tottenham Hotspur

Adebayor, Kaboul and Lennon have not travelled to Greece with the team this midweek. This means that Kane and Soldado are favored to start up front for us. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing as many are saying that Soldado and Kane are the preferred pairing rather than with Adebayor. So this match will give the gaffer another opportunity to test things out. Kane is the in-form forward so here’s hoping he continues the fine performances with another goal or two.

 

In other news, Vorm will get the start as Lloris got himself “suspended” in the previous fixture. I think it was his way of getting Vorm some more competitive playing time to be honest.

 

Group C is quite tight so a win tonight would help us keep pace with Besiktas which should easily dispatch Partizan Belgrade.

Fixture Focus–Spurs (EPL, 2 November 2014)

Aston Villa vs Tottenham Hotspur

Fresh off the victory in the Capital One Cup competition in mid week, Spurs will be looking to regain momentum in the league after needlessly dropping points last weekend.

 

The punters are picking an away win for Spurs but this is far from easy. Expect key battles as our strike force will need to get past Ron Vlaar in the heart of the Villains defense, while our centre backs will have to deal with the big presence of Christian Bentenke.

 

My hope is that the team takes positives from the past few matches and puts together a tight away performance to take all 3 points from the weekend.

Weekend Review - 2 Nov 2014

Manchester City v Manchester United

Against Chelsea, it was a 1 point gained rather than 2 point lost. And we managed to halt their chase to the crown.

Now we will be facing Man City who is facing a slump in form at the moment. Got knocked out of the League Cup whereas we got extra rest. We can only hope that our rest will be an advantage.

Man Utd is eating 0.5 handicap. I would say take the handicap as im predicting either a draw or an unexpected win from Man Utd.
