Stoke City FC vs Tottenham Hotspur
Two Europa League teams are meeting this Sunday, one is assured of qualification to the round of 32, whereas the other's campaign may end this coming Thursday. This factor will play a crucial part in tomorrow's game, especially the lineup.
Some players are doubtful for the trip to the Britannia Stadium, like Defoe and Bale, who may need last minute fitness tests to gauge their availability. This means that our midfield-attack formation will be either a 5-1 or a 4-2 formation, depending on the former two's fitness. King is likely out so Gallas may return to the fray, along with Kaboul, Walker and Assou-Ekotto at the back. If the first team appears on Sunday, then Redknapp may have thrown the towel in for the Europa League.
Since Stoke is assured of a place in the Europa League round of 32, he may field a strong side against us for this game, and without much injury problems. Suffering from an "Europa hangover", the good news is that the Europa game will be after this match. Also, 4 former Spurs players may face against us in the likes of Woodgate, Crouch, Etherington and Palacios. Some happy reunion. :)
Though we had been "stoked" in the League Cup, this game will be different as we are sending our first team and not the younglings. Expect a thrilling clash and victory will be slim.
COYS!!!!!
