Merry Christmas and hope your holiday weekend has been fun.
Man, do I miss football! After the snowed out weekend last week, I am so excited for Boxing Day football again. This time, we travel to Villa Park for a tricky away tie. A hard-fought win over West Bromwich Albion last time out helped alleviate some of the pressure on manager Gerard Houllier but did not offer many signs that Aston Villa can get back to the level they were at last season anytime soon. One thing Villa can't be accused of this season is sitting back and trying to soak up the pressure when the big teams come to town. The 2-2 draw against Manchester United and the 4-2 defeat to Arsenal are testament to that. In fact Vila have scored more home goals than any other team in the bottom half of the table.
As for Spurs, Gallas is out but we do have Rafael van der Vaart, Jermaine Jenas, Younes Kaboul and Niko Kranjcar available again. Spurs are now unbeaten in their last eight games in all competitions and haven't lost against Villa in the last four meetings making them a daunting prospect for a team struggling at the wrong end of the table.
We must continue our good form and keep up with the leaders. COYS!!!
