BSC Young Boys vs Tottenham Hotspur
Spurs fans have waited since 5 May 2010 for this day and it has finally arrived. We are travelling to Bern, Switzerland for our Champions League qualifier part uno!
BSC Young Boys despatched Fenebahce to get to this stage largely with the help of defender Emiliano Dudar keeping the goals away. Coach Vladimir Petkovic is also set to field David Degen, twin brother of former Liverpool man Philipp, who has quite a bit of pace and his runs could test Assou-Ekotto. Young Boys also have an Ivorian midfielder named Thierry Doubai who could be a force to deal with in midfield.
From what I’ve read, Spurs have been testing a 4-2-3-1 formation in pre-season which Redknapp will employ for away European matches. This formation reeks of a counter attacking strategy which will see Spurs soak up pressure and then break quickly with Lennon, Modric and Bale leading the charge forward to a lone striker. The other consideration is that the Wankdorf Stadium has a synthetic pitch so I do hope the players adjust to the speed and bounce of the ball.
I have been waiting for Champions League football and we are on the brink of the it. This is unbelievably exciting!
COYSsss!!!
