Newcastle United vs Tottenham Hotspur
After a period of long wait peppered with other sporting highlights such as Euro 2012 and the Olympics, the season is here again.
With a change of manager, players and possibly formation, it is hard to fathom what our style or even lineup would be. The new man in charge, Andre Villas-Boas (or AVB for short), may have something up his sleeve that his predecessor, Harry Redknapp, did not. We have our new signings Vertonghen and Sigurdsson but we are unsure if they will fit into play yet. AVB is famous for his high-line of defence, which worked wonders for his ex-ex-Club Porto but not Chelsea, but we are unsure whether he will continue with that. Two things for sure are that Parker is out, and Modric will probably be left out due to his impending departure from the club. In any way, my comments are reserved and I would prefer to let the opening game do its talking.
Newcastle United is probably set to emulate their past season's success with the same crop of players or if not, the same set of formation and style. However, there are some doubts to those players in Pardew's winning formula, with Cabaye, Ba and Cisse needing fitness tests.
We were fourth last season but missed out the lucrative Champions League due to our western London neighbours in blue. This time, with a new beginning (and manager, and players, etc.), let us make it possible again.
COYS!!!!!!
